Smooth skin is mostly a matter of an even collagen scaffold underneath. When that scaffold is disrupted — by inflammatory acne, by years of ultraviolet exposure, or simply by time — the surface above it reads as rough, porous or pitted. Topical products can improve the top layer of that picture. Changing the scaffold itself means reaching the dermis.
Every treatment we use for texture works on the same principle: a controlled healing injury, deep enough to trigger collagen remodelling and shallow enough that the skin repairs cleanly. What differs is how that injury is delivered.
Microneedling creates thousands of microscopic channels with fine needles. It suits generalised roughness, enlarged pores and early acne scarring, and because nothing is heated and no pigment is targeted, it is dependable across all skin tones. Radiofrequency microneedling adds controlled heat at depth, which contracts existing collagen as well as stimulating new growth — our usual choice for deeper rolling and boxcar scars, and for texture accompanied by laxity. Fractional resurfacing treats a percentage of the surface at a time, leaving untreated skin between the columns to speed healing.
Not everything that looks like a scar is one. Ice-pick scars are narrow and deep and often need a different approach entirely, and the brown marks left behind by acne are frequently post-inflammatory pigmentation rather than scarring — they fade with time and sun protection. Telling these apart at the consultation saves people money.
Texture work is a course, not an appointment. Three or four sessions four to six weeks apart is typical, and the result is judged at three to six months because collagen keeps remodelling long after the redness has settled.
Downtime is real but manageable: redness like a sunburn for one to three days, occasional pinpoint bruising, and strict sun protection for two weeks. Tell us if you have a history of keloid scarring or cold sores, or if you have taken isotretinoin in the last six months — each of those changes the plan.
A realistic expectation is meaningful softening, honestly assessed against your baseline photographs, rather than erasure.
Each of these is performed here under physician supervision. Which one is right depends on the assessment, and more than one may be combined over a course.
Collagen induction therapy for texture, scars and pores.
The shape of a course is the same whichever treatment your plan settles on. What changes is how many appointments sit inside it and how long the result takes to appear.
We take a medical history, assess the concern in good light — at rest and in animation where that matters — and take standardised photographs. You leave with a written plan carrying prices and timelines. Nothing is treated on the day unless you ask, you are medically suitable, and you have had time to read the consent form.
The appointment itself is usually the shortest part. Treatments for this concern run between 45 min and 1 h 15 min. Consent is confirmed again before anything begins, and you can stop at any point.
Suitability is decided at the consultation, not at booking. These are the things that most often change a plan — or postpone it — and every one of them is asked about before anything is treated.
Quotes are published with permission and shown with a first name and initial only.
The first lines to appear are usually the ones you make on purpose. Softening them is a question of movement, not erasure.
Faces do not only sag; they deflate. Working out where volume has actually gone is what separates a refreshed result from an overfilled one.
Radio-frequency microneedling (Morpheus8) for deep remodelling.
Fractional radio-frequency resurfacing for texture and scars.
Mechanical exfoliation for smooth, bright skin.
How quickly a change appears depends on the mechanism. A treatment that relaxes a muscle shows over days; anything that works by remodelling collagen keeps developing for weeks after the visit, which is why the result is judged later rather than in the mirror on the way out. Your aftercare sheet goes home with you and is in your portal.
We photograph you again under the same conditions and compare properly, rather than from memory. This is where a small adjustment costs nothing. It is included in the price of the treatment, not booked as an extra appointment.
Where a course is needed, sessions are spaced to the biology rather than to the diary, and we reassess before each one. If the photographs do not show the change we expected, we say so and change the plan.
For context rather than as a forecast: the published case studies using these treatments ran 4 sessions over 26 weeks. Individual results vary, and your own plan is decided at consultation.

Photographs are published with written client consent and are not retouched. Individual results vary; nothing shown here is presented as a typical or guaranteed outcome.
Sun spots, melasma and post-acne marks look alike and behave nothing alike. Treating the wrong one can leave you worse off than before.
Bring what you have noticed. We will assess it properly, photograph it, and give you a written plan — including the honest answer if skin texture & scarring is not best treated here.
